As a magician and host I get to work in some stunning venues and this is really one of the perks of the job.
Scotland has some beautiful venues ranging from hotels to castles to rustic barns the options are just endless and those planning a wedding in Scotland are really spoilt for choice. A recent wedding I was invited along to was at Dalduff Farm just outside Maybole in Ayrshire.
The wedding was of Thomas and Louise McKay, this wedding was not only fun but had some unique things happening that you may not have seen anywhere else.
I was invited along to entertain guests at the drinks reception while the newly married couple was taken away to have photos taken from the amazing Mark McCue ( from Mark Mccue Photography).
Guests were entertained with close up magic, coins vanished, cards were found and marker pens grew bigger in size. The guests were loving the magic and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming.
As well as having myself perform at the drinks reception the couple had a full blown casino set up. This was provided by the awesome team at top hat casinos. Guests could choose to play roulette and/or blackjack. Each guest was given a poker chip of equal value and whoever accumulated the most money before dinner was called would win a bottle of Prosecco.
After I had performed for all the guests I grabbed the happy couple and treated them to a special performance that left them with a unique and magical souvenir to take home that would allow them to remember the performance I gave them on their special day. This was all captured by Matthew from Flashtag films.
In a recent survey of couples who got married 81% of their guests said that the thing they remember most about a wedding is the entertainment and whether or not they had a good time. This is why magic is a great way to keep guests entertained because it’s saves the guests just having around, waiting thinking “when we getting fed”.
Overall this wedding was really good fun for myself and the guests had fun playing in the pop up casino and watching the award winning magic. A massive thank you to Thomas and Louise for having me as a part of their special day.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, I really love what I do and the memories I can help create.
